Save Our Hospitals Ealing debate tonight
Tonight (Wednesday) Local London Assembly Member Dr Onkar Sahota will debate the future of Ealing Hospital with representatives from NHS North West London and other members of the Save Our Hospital Ealing (SOHE) campaign. The campaign is against the closure of the A&E departments at Ealing, Hammersmith, Charing Cross and Central Middlesex hospitals.
The debate will take place in the Victoria Hall at Ealing Town Hall and will cover the four accident and emergency departments that are threatened with closure. This follows the successful march on 15th September through Ealing which was attended by thousands of local residents. It will be chaired by Victoria Macdonald, Channel 4's health and social care correspondent. The event will start at 7pm. It has been designed to allow the maximum opportunity for questions from the public.
Local Labour London Assembly Member, Dr Onkar Sahota said:
“We are facing unprecedented cuts to the provision of our health care in north-west London. These cuts will affect us all and will put a tremendous amount of pressure on the remaining A&E departments, which are already stretched.
“Tonight we are debating the future of our hospital with representatives from NHS North West London. The march two week’s ago was a clear demonstration of the strength of feeling of local residents. By working together we will show the Prime Minister, the Health Secretary and NHS North West London that we need our local hospitals and we are prepared to fight for them.
“Together, we must preserve and protect the NHS for our future.”
